YOGA FOR ALL SEASONS
Focus on Your Outdoor Activity Individual or Workshop

Wild Yoga can offer you a personal yoga program that blends perfectly with your outdoor or athletic activity. With only a few private sessions or with a workshop, you can explore and tune into the parallels between skiing, climbing, paddling and yoga.

Kayaking ... or how to relax more into the boat. Fluidity of the spine is the key to staying in balance while paddling. Tension in a paddler’s body can make the spine rigid and lock up the hips. The result is a sense of disconnection from the kayak and a feeling of instability. Yoga’s concepts of establishing a sense of grounding and maintaining the integrity of the spine apply directly to proper paddling technique.

Yoga & Skiing. Space and velocity challenge both the body and the mind. The balance of strength and flexibility cultivated through the practice of yoga come directly into play as one moves downhill under the influence of gravity. This all-levels workshop is designed to increase one's awareness of the important relationship between foot and ski, develop better balance, and help strengthen the legs. It also emphasizes twisting poses to encourage torso rotation, an important component of fall line skiing.

Yoga For Stiffs. Ever think you are just too tight to do yoga?
Think again. Yoga is for every body. Increasing your flexibility is a benefit that comes from consistent practice, not a prerequisite for beginning. Twisting oneself into a pretzel is a gross misconception of what the practice of yoga is all about. In this workshop we will explore the use or props and adjustments to the body to adapt classical poses for the less flexible student. The workshop is for beginning students, and for more advanced students with limited flexibilty.

Weekend Workshops. See our CALENDAR for details on workshops in your area.
